The link to Daisy's Dia Project
This project was called Day in the Life of a person or animal. Basically we had to talk about what our person or animal does in their everyday life and try and use 4 reflexive verbs. They were really valuable to learn because we don't use reflexive verbs in English so I thought they would be important to learn for my Spanish speaking ability. This was overall a pretty fun project where I got my reflexive verbs down and could be creative with using my dog.
Porque Statement
I feel like learning another language like spanish would be very valuable because probably half the country speaks or at least knows spanish. Also, spanish can help with jobs, for example during an interview if one person knows the language they were just born with and the other is bilingual there is a good chance the other guy could get the job. Also, knowing spanish can open many doors for traveling opportunities and it can be much more helpful knowing another language in the country and give you a more enriching experience that way. Overall, knowing spanish or any other language can be so helpful in the world today.
Las Ramblas
link to my presentation
This project required making a biography about a person from a Spanish speaking country that speaks Spanish. Our task was to create a presentation about our person's life from the past to the present. The person I chose was Pablo Montoya, a race car driver from Colombia. During this project I learned about a person who I pretty much knew nothing about and how to use the preterito and imperfect better in my Spanish speaking and writing. Once the project was completed there was an exhibition for it. During the exhibicion everybody dressed up as their person as parents came to observe and I had to speak about my person in español. Overall, doing the Las Ramblas project was a very creative and beneficial way for learning spanish better that I would recommend for future classes.
La casa en Mango Street
The La casa en Mango Street project entailed reading a story called La casa en Mango Street. After we read a few chapters of the story we had to write a couple stories about our self. I chose to write about the different places and houses I lived in and how I was named. After writing those things we had to create a podcast recording ourselves reading the Spanish version of our stories and the English version as well.

Proyecto de Cuba
Reflection
1. What was your proyecto?
For my project I made a cubano or Cuban sandwich which is of course a cuban food and learned about Che Guevara. Also, we had to include commands since Che Guevara had communist views.
2. How'd it come out?
My final product turned out great because I felt like my recipe was very well detailed and refined. Also, my recipe worked very effectively because everybody loved the cuban sandwich and that made me want to make it again.
3. What did you learn?
I learned a lot about the history of the Cuban sandwich and the history of the Cuban revolution. Also, throughout this unit we learned a lot about who Che Guevara truly was and his story. Cuba has sort of been a big deal in the news in this unit as well, so I really liked having something relevant to focus on and it was pretty meaningful to me.
